What is draw my town?

Draw My Town is your chance to have your very own piece of personalised art. 

The artist behind DmT is Ben Poultney – Ben has been drawing since he was able to hold a crayon and hasn’t stopped since. He specialises in fun, vibrant cartoon artwork, bringing humour and lovable characters to the forefront of his drawings.

Ben works regularly with the elderly in many care-homes, as well as offering children’s cartoon drawing classes, both in person and online.

So How Does It Work?

  1. Firstly you’ll need to choose which design you’d like to be drawn into, click here and have a browse. DmT has a choice of your background being full cartoon illustration or a wonderful photograph.

If you’d rather, you can also use an existing photo of your own, send it across to us and we can have a look to see if it’s suitable. 

2. Once you’ve clicked on your chosen background, simply follow the drop-down options and choose how many people you’d like added in, as well as the size & if you’d like it framed.

3. That’s it! Once you’ve made your payment, you’ll just need to send us a photograph of the people you’d like to be drawn. You can do that either here, by sending us DM on Insta, by Whatsapp, or Email your photos.

what type of photos can i send?

Try and send a full-length photo of the person or animal that you would like drawn, this way we can create a full character from head to toe. Clearer the face, the better. But just what you have, and we can always let you know if the photo isn’t up to scratch for whatever reason. Don’t worry – there’s always a way to make it work. 

The person in the photo will be drawn as they are, same pose, same clothes etc. However if you want things changed a little that’s not a problem just let us know what you’d like (different pose, different outfit etc) and we can let you know how much additional that will cost.

Do I get to see the drawing, to make sure I'm happy with it?

Absolutely, once the persons have been drawn, you will sent the final drawing to make sure you’re happy with it. If there is something that needs changing (hair colour not quite right etc) just reply to the email & we will aim to get it right for you. 

Only when you’re good and happy will it be signed off for printing & posting.

Ben has created corporate artwork for Barclays, Four Seasons Hotel, Hackney Council, The Mayor of the West Midlands, and many other large clients. Ben was the exclusive illustrator for Burger & Lobster Restaurant and has spent time volunteering and drawing at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
